Thank you for visiting this blog. My name is Bonnie Jansen Hackbarth, and I am chairing the 2012 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Louisville, in honor of my mother-in-law, Natalie. A wonderful woman who saw me immediately upon our first meeting as her daughter, she no longer can really see me at all. She was diagnosed 11 years ago and we miss her every day, even though she remains among us physically.
We all walk for someone, because all of us know someone who has Alzheimer’s themselves or who has been touched by this disease.
To date, there is no cure. Neither is a way to slow its progress. But there is hope borne of people who are raising funds to keep looking. I hope you will follow this blog and contribute with your own story of why you walk. I would love to hear from you.
